Church of the Nazarene

Japanese: ナザレン教会 - ナザレンきょうかい（英語表記）Church of Nazarene

One of the leading Holiness churches in the United States. Founded in 1895 in Los Angeles by Methodist pastor Ph. Brize. In 1907 it merged with the American Pentecostal Association to become the Nazarene Pentecostal Church, and in 1908 it merged with Christ Holiness Church, a Southern Holiness church. It was renamed the Church of the Nazarene at its general meeting in 1919. It is based on Methodism.

アメリカの有力な聖潔派諸教会 (ホーリネス派) の一つ。 1895年メソジスト教会の牧師 Ph.ブリジーによってロサンゼルスで成立。 1907年アメリカ・ペンテコステ派協会と合流してナザレン・ペンテコステ教会となり，翌 08年南部聖潔派教会の一つキリスト聖潔教会と合併した。 19年の総会でナザレン教会と改称。メソジスト主義による。
