A town in Chosei County in central Chiba Prefecture. Most of the land is hilly and there is a lot of forest land. The town produces rice and many forest products such as shiitake mushrooms. There are also electrical factories. It is sandwiched between the cities of Mobara and Ichihara. The town suffered damage in the Great East Japan Earthquake. 47.11 km2 . 8,035 people (2010). 千葉県中央部，長生(ちょうせい)郡の町。大部分丘陵地で，林野が多い。米を産し，シイタケなどの林産物も多い。電気関係などの工場もある。茂原，市原の２市にはさまれている。東日本大震災で，町内において被害が発生。47.11km2。8035人（2010）。
