A town in Chosei County in central Chiba Prefecture. Most of the land is hilly and there is a lot of forest land. The town produces rice and many forest products such as shiitake mushrooms. There are also electrical factories. It is sandwiched between the cities of Mobara and Ichihara. The town suffered damage in the Great East Japan Earthquake. 47.11 km2 . 8,035 people (2010).
