Also written as Tamenabe. They were one of the professional departments of the Yamato Imperial Court and served with woodworking skills. According to the Nihon Shoki, the entry for August 31st year of the Ōjin era states that they began as "skilled craftsmen" who paid tribute to the King of Silla to build ships, and the entry for the 12th year of the Yūryaku era in the same book shows Inabe no Onda, and the entry for the following year, Inabe no Mane, shows them participating as woodworkers in the construction of the palace. In the Shinsen Shojiroku, Inabe no Miyatsuko of the Sakyo Shinbetsu clan and Tamenabe no Obito of Settsu are thought to be Tomo no Miyatsuko, but all of them claim to be related to the Mononobe clan, and since the entry for the 18th year of the Yūryaku era in the Nihon Shoki states that Inabe was "owned" by the Mononobe clan, it is believed that they were under the control of the Mononobe clan.
