Inabe is an old town in Inabe County, northern Mie Prefecture. It is located in the northern Ise Plain and is a prosperous area for rice and poultry farming. The main settlement, Sohara, is the location of the Sohara Mikuriya, a branch of the Ise Grand Shrine, and is the center of the county. It also has ironworks. The Sangi Railway Line runs from Kuwana to the town. In December 2003, it merged with the towns of Hokusei, Taian, and Fujiwara in Inabe County to form Inabe City. 23.83 km2 . 8,574 people (2003). 三重県北部,員弁郡の旧町。伊勢平野北部にあり,米作,養鶏が盛ん。主集落の楚原は伊勢神宮領の曾原御厨が置かれた地で,郡の中心。鉄工業なども行う。桑名から三岐鉄道線が通じる。2003年12月員弁郡北勢町,大安町,藤原町と合併し,いなべ市となる。23.83km2。8574人(2003)。
