Bernard, M.

...The Society of Seasons was formed in response to these circumstances. It was founded in 1837 by Blanqui, a revolutionary who was based on Babeuf's egalitarianism and Buonarroti's secret society movement, along with Barbès and Martin Bernard (1808-1883), and its membership is estimated at between 600 and 1,000. In May 1839, an armed unit temporarily occupied the city hall, but was defeated by the regular army and the organization was destroyed.
