Naiki

The Japanese reading is "Uchi no Shirusu Tsukasa". The Chinese names are Jushi, Hashishita, Kikyoro, etc. It is an official position belonging to the Ministry of Central Affairs, and according to the Personnel Order, there were two Dainaiki, two Chunaiki, and two Shonaiki, and they were in charge of drafting imperial edicts and recording the Imperial Palace. They correspond to the Geki belonging to the Daijokan. The official ranks of Dai, Chu, and Shonaiki were Sho Rokui Jo, Sho Shichii Jo, and Sho Hachii Jo, respectively. In 806 (Daido 1), the Chunaiki was abolished, and the official rank of Shonaiki was changed to Sho Shichii Jo, the same as the Chunaiki, and four Naiki Shisho were also appointed ("Ruiju Sandai Kaku" and "Nihon Koki"). The title Naiki-kyoku or Naikisho appears in the "Saigu-ki" and other books, and it is known that it was an office. According to the "Shokugensho" (completed in 1340), there was one O-naiki and two Sho-naiki, and those who were skilled in writing were appointed to this post from among the Confucian scholars.

和訓は「うちのしるすつかさ」。唐名は柱史、柱下、起居郎など。中務(なかつかさ)省所属の官職で、職員令(しきいんりょう)によると大内記2人、中内記2人、少内記2人で、詔勅の起草や御所の記録のことをつかさどる。太政官(だいじょうかん)所属の外記(げき)に対応。官位相当は大・中・少各正(しょう)六位上・正七位上・正八位上。806年（大同1）に中内記を廃し、少内記の官位相当を中内記と同じ正七位上とし、さらに内記史生(ししょう)4人を置いた（『類聚三代格(るいじゅうさんだいきゃく)』『日本後紀』）。『西宮記(さいぐうき)』などに内記局あるいは内記所の称がみえ、一司をなしていたことが知られる。『職原抄(しょくげんしょう)』（1340成立）によると、大内記1人、少内記2人で、儒門のなかより文筆に堪える者をこれに任ずるとある。
