...After Matsudaira Nobutsuna, the lord of Kawagoe, diverted the Nobidome irrigation canal from the Tamagawa aqueduct in 1655 (Meireki 1), the development of Nobidome Shinden also progressed. Owada, located in the northern part of the city, was a crossing point of the Yanase River during the Edo period, and served as a post station on the Kawagoe Kaido road, where horse-drawn carriages were used.
