Year of death: May 1, 714 (June 17, 714) Year of birth: Unknown An official from the end of the 7th century to the beginning of the 8th century. Called Saho Dainagon. Son of Minister of the Right Nagatoku. Father of Tabito and Sakanoue no Iratsume. Grandfather of Yakamochi. During the Jinshin War (672), he sided with Prince Oama (later Emperor Tenmu) along with his relatives Fukiage and others. In the 13th year of Tenmu's reign (684), as Konishiki no Naka (equivalent to the fifth rank), he investigated the location of a new capital. In the 1st year of Shucho (686), as Naohiro no San, he went to Tsukushi to entertain envoys from Silla. He then delivered a eulogy on the affairs of the Treasury at the funeral of Emperor Tenmu, and delivered a eulogy again in the 2nd year of Jitō (688). In the 1st year of Taihō (701), he was promoted to Junior Third Rank under the Taihō Code, but his position as Chunagon was abolished by the same code. In the 2nd year, he became Shikibukyō, and in the 3rd year, he became councillor in the Imperial Court and was made Hyobukyō. In 705, he was appointed Dainagon and also held the position of Dazai no Sochi. There is an article about him being appointed Dainagon again in 708 with the rank of Shosanmi. In that same year, together with the leaders of the Dajokan, he received an imperial decree from Emperor Genmei ordering him to continue in his lineage and serve his descendants. In 7, he died as Dainagon and Taishogun with Shosanmi, and Emperor Genmei, who was deeply saddened by his death, bestowed him the rank of Junior Second Rank. His poems are included in the Manyoshu. 没年:和銅7.5.1(714.6.17) 生年:生年不詳 7世紀末から8世紀初の官人。佐保大納言と称す。右大臣長徳の子。旅人,坂上郎女の父。家持の祖父。壬申の乱(672)で,同族吹負らと共に大海人皇子(のちの天武天皇)方につき活躍。天武13年(684)小錦中(五位相当)で新たに都すべき地を調査した。朱鳥1(686)年には直広参で,新羅使を饗すため筑紫に赴いた。次いで天武葬送の殯宮で大蔵の事を誄し,持統2(688)年にも再び誄している。大宝1(701)年直大壱から大宝令制の従三位となるが,任じていた中納言の官は同令で廃止。2年式部卿,3年には朝政に参議し,兵部卿に。慶雲2(705)年には大納言に任じ,大宰帥を兼ねた。和銅1(708)年正三位で再び任大納言の記事がある。この年太政官首脳と共に元明天皇の御前で,子々孫々まで相継ぎて供奉せよとの勅を受けた。7年大納言兼大将軍正三位で没し,深く悼んだ元明天皇から従二位を贈られた。『万葉集』に歌を伝える。 (佐藤信) 出典 朝日日本歴史人物事典:(株)朝日新聞出版朝日日本歴史人物事典について 情報 |
