German clergyman. German name Johannes Tritheim. Born in Trittenheim, he became abbot of Sponheim in 1482 and Würzburg in 1506. He lived a passionate Catholic life and worked hard to reform monasteries and collect manuscripts, but he also had an astrologer and magician side, thinking about the seven planets that rule the world. He left behind an interesting letter report (1507) about JG Faust, a historical figure who is said to be the model for the Faust legend.

ドイツの聖職者。ドイツ名トリトハイムJohannes Tritheim。トリッテンハイムに生まれ，1482年シュポンハイム，1506年ビュルツブルクの修道院長。熱狂的なカトリックの信仰に生き，修道院改革，写本の収集などに努めたが，世界を支配する七惑星などについて考える占星術師，魔術師的側面ももっていた。ファウスト伝説のモデルとされる歴史上の人物J.G.ファウストについて興味ある書簡の報告(1507)を残している。
