Tree, Sir Herbert (Draper) Beerbohm
Born: 17 December 1853, London
[Died] July 2, 1917. London. British actor and theatre manager. He started out as an amateur and made his professional debut in 1878, displaying a romantic style of acting. In 1887 he became the manager of the Haymarket Theatre, a comedy theatre, and performed Hamlet (1892) and plays by Wilde and Ibsen, among others, in which he starred. In 1897 he opened Her Majesty's Theatre, where many Shakespeare works were performed in a lavish spectacle style. In 1904 he opened a drama school, laying the foundations for the present Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. He was knighted in 1909. He is the author of Thoughts and Afterthoughts (1913).

Died c. 1533. Paris. French printer, book designer, and engraver. Studied in Bourges, and went to Italy to study in 1506. After returning to France, he lived in Paris and worked to reform printing and bookbinding, popularizing the use of Roman typeface instead of the old Gothic typeface. Around 1530, he was appointed "imperieur du roi" (publisher to the king) by King Francis I. His book Champfleury (1529) is considered a classic work that describes the aesthetic and scientific research into printing techniques.

For example, when playing a game, if you think about the next move, the next move, and so on, the number of cases increases like the branches of a tree, resulting in a tree structure, hence the name. フランスの印刷家,書籍の装丁家,版画家。ブールジュで学び,1506年イタリアに留学。帰国後パリに住み,印刷や本の装丁の改革に努め,古いゴシック体に代りローマ体を普及させた。 30年頃フランソア1世により「王の出版家」 imprimeur du roiに任命される。その著書『シャンフルーリ』 Champfleury (1529) は印刷技術の美的,科学的研究を記した古典的名著とされている。
