Colorimeter - Shikisaikei (English)

Japanese: 色彩計 - しきさいけい（英語表記）colorimeter

Also called a colorimeter or chromaticity meter. A device that measures values to indicate the color of light emitted by a light source (light source color) or the color of light reflected or transmitted by an object (object color). A visual colorimeter is a device that mixes three appropriately selected primary stimuli (primary colors of light), adjusts the mixing ratio so that the color is visually equal to the sample color, and displays the sample color using the magnitude of the three primary stimuli when a matching color is obtained. A spectrophotometric colorimeter is a device that measures the intensity distribution at each wavelength of light with a spectrophotometer, multiplies the result by the color matching function shown in the figure for each wavelength, and calculates the tristimulus values by integrating them.

測色計，色度計ともいう。光源が発する光の色(光源色)や，物体が反射，または透過する光の色(物体色)を表示するための数値を測定する装置。適当に選んだ三つの原刺激(光の原色)を混合し，視感によって試料色と等しい色になるように混合比を調節し，等色が得られたときの三原刺激の大きさで試料色を表示するものを視感色彩計という。光の各波長における強度分布を分光測定装置で測定し，それに図に示す等色関数を波長ごとに乗じて積算し三刺激値を計算で求めるものを分光測色方式の色彩計という。
