Drachman

Danish poet and painter. The son of a naval surgeon, he was familiar with the sea from an early age. Under the influence of Brandes, he took a radical stance in his English Socialists (1871), but later began to write romantic love poems and maritime poems. In addition to works such as A Sailor's Faith, Seaside Songs, and The Songbook (1889), he also wrote novels and plays. As a painter, he loved to depict the sea.

デンマークの詩人，画家。海軍軍医の子で早くから海に親しむ。ブランデスの影響下に《イギリスの社会主義者たち》（1871年）で急進的立場に立つが，のちロマンティックな恋愛詩，海洋詩を書くようになった。《船乗りの信念にかけて》《海辺の歌》，《歌の本》（1889年）などのほか小説，戯曲もある。画家としては海を好んで描いた。
