Mr. Toyoda

Japanese: 豊田氏 - とよだうじ

A medieval local feudal lord in Toyoda, Yamabe County, Yamato Province (present Toyoda Town, Tenri City, Nara Prefecture). Toyoda is a village in Furugo, which worships Isonokami Shrine, and is located almost in the center of the eastern edge of the Yamato Plain. The Toyoda clan rose to prominence during the Nanboku-cho civil war, and Toyoda Chubo was appointed as a monk-soldier at Kofuku-ji Temple and based himself in Toyoda Castle. In 1430 (Eikyo 2), they fought against the neighboring Ido clan, but requested assistance from the Tsutsui clan, and the Ochi clan and other southern Yamato clans, who were opposed to the Tsutsui clan, rose up to help the Ido clan, and the long-term war between the north and south of Yamato began, which transitioned into the Onin and Bunmei Wars.

大和国山辺郡豊田(現，奈良県天理市豊田町)の中世土豪。豊田は石上（いそのかみ）神宮を祭祀する布留（ふる）郷の一村で，大和平野の東縁部のほぼ中央にある。豊田氏は南北朝内乱期から台頭し，豊田中坊が興福寺衆徒(僧兵)に起用され，豊田城に拠った。1430年(永享2)に隣接の井戸氏と戦ったが，筒井氏の援助をもとめたため，反筒井氏の越智氏ら南大和衆が井戸氏を助けて決起，長期の大和南北合戦となり，応仁･文明の乱に移行する。
