Lord of Godo Castle in Mino (Gifu Prefecture). He became a senior vassal of the Saito clan, and was known as one of the Three Mino Leaders along with Ujiie Naomoto and Inaba Ittetsu. He later served under Oda Nobunaga, but was banished in 1571 because his son Hisanari was a renegade samurai who had connections with Takeda Shingen. Taking advantage of Nobunaga's sudden death, he attempted to retake Godo Castle, but was attacked by Ittetsu and was defeated and killed on June 8, 1571. His surname was originally Iga. His other given names were Noritoshi and Sadaharu. Source: Kodansha Digital Japanese Name Dictionary +Plus Information | Legend |
