This hollowed-out boat was used in the Izumo and Oki regions of Shimane Prefecture. It has now disappeared, with only one specimen preserved at Takuhi Shrine in Oki and one at Miho Shrine in Izumo. Many still remained on Oki until the early Showa period, and were used for the fishing method known as Kanagi, which involves observing the shorelines. It is about 5.8m long and 90cm wide at the shoulder, made of fir in the shape of split bamboo, and in the old days, all were carved from a single log. Both of the two surviving specimens are made of three pieces, two omoki (side pieces) and one cho (bottom piece).

島根県の出雲･隠岐地方で使用されていた刳（くり）舟。現在は消滅し，わずかに隠岐の焼火（たくひ）神社と出雲の美保神社とに各1艘が標本として保存されているにすぎない。隠岐では昭和初年までまだかなり残っていて，カナギといわれる磯見漁に使われていた。長さ約5.8m，肩幅約90cm，材はモミ，割竹形で，古くはすべて一木の丸太彫であった。現存する2艘の標本はいずれも2本のオモキ(側部)と1本のチョウ(底部)との3枚継ぎのものになっている。
