Gondo Seikei

Japanese: 権藤成卿 - ごんどうせいけい

Born: March 21, 1868, Kurume
[Died] July 9, 1937. Tokyo political thinker. He preached kingly politics based on agrarianism, and had a great influence on right-wingers seeking reform in the early Showa period, when rural areas were being impoverished by the development of capitalism. He was called the "mastermind behind the Blood Brotherhood Incident" and the May 15 Incident, and his book "Autonomous People's Standards" (1926) was called a textbook for national reform by young officers. He was on friendly terms with right-wing leaders such as Inoue Nicho. His other major works include "Rules of Rule by the Emperor and the People" (32), "Rules of Self-Salvation in the Countryside" (32), and "Rules of Autonomous People's Government" (36).

政治思想家。農本主義に基づく王道政治を説き，資本主義の発達によって農村が疲弊していた昭和初期に，革新を求める右翼に大きな影響を与えた。血盟団事件，五・一五事件の「黒幕思想家」といわれ，著書の『自治民範』 (1926) は青年将校によって国家革新の教科書といわれた。井上日召らの右翼指導者と親交があった。その他の主著に『君民共治論』 (32) ，『農村自救論』 (32) ，『自治民政理』 (36) がある。
