Also known as nystagmus. A condition in which the eyes move rhythmically. Depending on the direction, there are horizontal, vertical, rotational, and other types. Physiologically, it can occur when tracking a rapidly moving object or making vigorous rotational movements. Pathologically, it can occur due to disorders or diseases of the visual organs, labyrinth, brain, or related central nervous system. In this case, it may not be rhythmic, and is often accompanied by dizziness.

眼球振盪(しんとう)とも。眼球が律動的にゆれ動く状態。方向により水平性，垂直性，回転性などの種類がある。生理的にも，急速に移動するものを追視したり，激しい回転運動をしたりすると起こる。病的には視器や迷路，脳，これに関連する中枢神経系の障害や疾患で起こる。この場合は律動的でない場合もあり，多くはめまいを伴う。
