Volans (Flying Fish)
Abbreviation Vol. A small constellation around the south pole of the sky. It is one of the animal constellations newly established by J. Bayer. It is located south of Carina and cannot be seen from Japan. It has no bright stars. Its approximate position is 7h40m in right ascension and -69° in declination. It reaches its culmination at 8pm in mid-March. [Ishida Goro]
