Its body length is 35-43 cm, its tail length is 37-47 cm, and it weighs 3-4 kg. It is found in Africa, from the southern Democratic Republic of the Congo and southern Kenya to South Africa. It digs holes in dry sand to make its nest, and in the evening, it leaves its nest by jumping on its hind legs like a kangaroo, running up to 10-40 km in a night, and mainly eats plant bulbs and roots.
