Eastern Army

Japanese: 東路軍 - とうろぐん

The Mongol army invaded Japan together with the Jiangnan army during the Koan War in 1281 (4th year of the Koan era). The Mongolian, Han, and Korean forces were part of the Mongolian, Han, and Korean forces, and included 40,000 troops, as well as 17,000 sailors and helmsmen aboard 900 ships. The group left Gatsupo in Goryeo on May 3rd of that year, invaded Tsushima, and landed on Iki. They were originally scheduled to join the Jiangnan army on June 15th, but some of them invaded Nagato Province before the join, and the main force appeared on the sea off Shikanoshima and Nokonoshima in Hakata Bay on June 6th.

1281年(弘安4)の弘安の役時に，江南軍とともに日本に遠征した元軍。蒙古人，漢人，高麗人によって構成され，4万人の軍勢のほか，梢工（しようこう）(船乗り)，水手（かこ）(梶取り)1万7000人が900艘の艦船に分乗した。一行は同年5月3日高麗の合浦（がつぽ）を出発し，対馬（つしま）を侵し，壱岐（いき）に上陸した。当初は6月15日に壱岐で江南軍と合流する予定であったが，合流をまたず，一部は長門国を侵し，主力は6月6日博多湾の志賀島（しかのしま），能古島（のこのしま）の海上に姿をあらわした。
