tutu

...they require the dignity to play the role of a prince or aristocrat. tutu is a skirt unique to ballet, made of several layers of thin fabric. It first appeared in the ballet La Sylphide (1832), and at that time it reached down to the ankles, but towards the end of the 19th century it became long enough to reveal the knees.
