〘Noun〙 Shaku in the Chinese Tang Dynasty. A unit of length. It also refers to the measuring device and the length of one shaku. There are large and small shaku, which were introduced to Japan and incorporated into the Taiho and Yoro codes, becoming small shaku in the codes, and later became the large shaku in the Wadō code. → Shaku (shaku).
