...The village is located in a mountain basin in the Nyu Mountains, and is long and narrow from east to west, bordering Sabae City to the east and Takefu City to the south. Blessed with china clay, it is known as a production center of Echizen ware, and there are ancient Echizen kiln sites extending to the neighboring Oda town area to the north. There are remains of a Sueki kiln in Shinmeigatani in Ozohara, and the Echizen Ceramic Art Village is located in the area, along with the Prefectural Ceramic Industry Testing Station and Ceramic Art Museum.
