Jodo Shinshu Honganji sect. Head priest of Edo Joryuji Temple. Learned from Soyo and others. During the Sango Wakuran War, he exerted his efforts in Edo, and in Bunsho era (1818) he served as a lecturer at Nishi Honganji Gakuin. He enjoyed various studies, excelled in poetry and prose, and was friends with Sakai Hoitsu and Tani Buncho. His Buddhist name was Shokyo. His pen name was Tenka.
