...In 1889, the establishment of the Imperial Museum, Imperial Kyoto Museum, and Imperial Nara Museum was decided by government regulations, and in 1995, a display hall designed by Katayama Tokuma was completed at its current location in Kyoto. In 1900, it was renamed the Kyoto Imperial Household Museum, and in 1924, it was donated to Kyoto Prefecture to celebrate the Crown Prince's marriage and became the Imperial Kyoto Museum. In 1952, it was transferred to the national government and became known as the Kyoto National Museum, attached to the Committee for the Protection of Cultural Properties (Agency for Cultural Affairs in 1968). A new display hall was completed in 1966, and the display hall designed by Katayama was designated an Important Cultural Property in 1969. ...
