A projection type image receiving device that can display a large-screen television image on a projection screen. It is also called a television enlargement projection device or a video projector. Projection televisions are classified into three types based on the type: (1) picture tube projection display, (2) light valve, and (3) laser display. (1) combines a high-brightness picture tube with an enlarged projection optical system, and there are two types: a refractive type with a simple configuration that uses a refractive lens in the projection optical system, and a reflective type that uses a concave mirror.

映写スクリーンに大画面のテレビ画像を表示できる投写形受像装置。テレビジョン拡大投影装置，あるいはビデオプロジェクターvideo projectorなどとも呼ばれる。投写形テレビジョンは方式的に，(1)受像管投写形ディスプレー，(2)ライトバルブ，(3)レーザーディスプレーの3種類に分類される。　(1)は高輝度の受像管と拡大投写用光学系を組み合わせたもので，投写用光学系に屈折レンズを用いた，単純な構成の屈折式と，凹面鏡を用いた反射式がある。
