The Tale of Tang Caizi

Japanese:
The Tale of Tang Caizi
A collection of biographies of Chinese literary figures from the Tang dynasty. Ten volumes. Compiled by Xin Wenfang, a native of the Western Regions during the Yuan dynasty. In addition to the biographies of 278 people, 120 biographies are included as appendices on related literary figures. Completed in 1304 (8th year of the reign of Emperor Datoku), it contains some errors, but the biographies of minor poets who do not appear in official histories are valuable. This book was lost in China during the Ming dynasty, but a Gozan edition reprinted in Japan during the Muromachi period was published in 1802 (7th year of the Jiaqing era) as part of the Lost Collection of Books, and became known after being re-imported to China. Japanese:
