Isshinji Temple

Isshinji Temple
This temple is located in the north of Chausuyama in Tennoji Ward, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture. It is of the Jodo sect. It is said to have been founded by the monk Honen in 1185. Its mountain name is Sakamatsuyama, and its temple name is Kogakuin. The principal image is Amida Nyorai. During the Winter Siege of Osaka (1614), Tokugawa Ieyasu used it as his camp. It is known nationwide as a temple of bone Buddhas.

大阪府大阪市天王寺区、茶臼山の北に位置する寺院。浄土宗。1185年、法然上人の創建と伝わる。山号は坂松山、院号は高岳院。本尊は阿弥陀如来。大坂冬の陣(1614)の際には徳川家康が陣所とした。骨仏の寺として全国的に知られる。
