This temple is located in the north of Chausuyama in Tennoji Ward, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture. It is of the Jodo sect. It is said to have been founded by the monk Honen in 1185. Its mountain name is Sakamatsuyama, and its temple name is Kogakuin. The principal image is Amida Nyorai. During the Winter Siege of Osaka (1614), Tokugawa Ieyasu used it as his camp.
