The Wheel-Turning King

Japanese: 転輪聖王 - てんりんじょうおう

(Translation of Cakravarti-rāja) Buddhist term. A king who unifies the four underworlds and rules the world with the correct teachings. This name comes from the fact that he makes his enemies surrender by transforming a wheel of precious metal (a chariot-like object), but there are distinctions between the Golden Wheel King and the Iron Wheel King depending on the type of wheel of precious metal (gold, silver, copper, iron), and the world he rules varies between four provinces or one province. In addition to the wheel of precious metal, they possess six other precious metals, and have 32 characteristics on their bodies, and are contrasted with the Buddhas of the transcendental world. As for when these kings appear, it is said that the Golden Wheel King appears when the human lifespan is between infinite and 80,000 years, the Iron Wheel King when the human lifespan is 100 years, and the others do not change in between.
