A laser uses the light emitted by creating a negative temperature state in the product of a chemical reaction. It mainly uses transitions between the vibrational and rotational levels of molecules, and produces oscillation lines in the infrared or far-infrared region. For example, H2 + Cl2 → 2HCl Lasers that use the reaction that produces fluorine have been reported to oscillate at a wavelength of around 3.7 μm and have continuous wave outputs of around 70 to 50 mW. In addition, many other lasers are known, such as HF lasers that oscillate at around 2.7 μm.
