Chemical Laser - Kagaku Laser

A laser uses the light emitted by creating a negative temperature state in the product of a chemical reaction. It mainly uses transitions between the vibrational and rotational levels of molecules, and produces oscillation lines in the infrared or far-infrared region. For example,

_H2 + _Cl2 → 2HCl

Lasers that use the reaction that produces fluorine have been reported to oscillate at a wavelength of around 3.7 μm and have continuous wave outputs of around 70 to 50 mW. In addition, many other lasers are known, such as HF lasers that oscillate at around 2.7 μm.

化学反応によって生成物中に負温度の状態をつくり，その発光を利用するレーザー．おもに分子の振動・回転準位間の遷移を用い，赤外あるいは遠赤外の領域に発振線がある．たとえば，

H₂ ＋ Cl₂ → 2HCl

が生成する反応を用いるレーザーでは，3.7 μm 付近の波長で発振し，出力は連続発振で70～50 mW 程度のものが報告されている．そのほか，HFの2.7 μm 付近の発振など多くのものが知られている．
