In the lineage of American B-grade horror movies, there is also a unique work called "Cat People" (1942, directed by Jack Turner and starring Simone Simon), which featured a "feline woman" as the heroine, and in 1981 a remake of it (directed by Paul Schrader and starring Nastassja Kinski) was made.
