Japanese: 伝動装置 - でんどうそうち

A general term for a device that transmits the power of one rotating shaft to another. There are many types, including mechanical types such as gear transmissions using gears, belt-type transmissions using chains, and friction transmissions using friction wheels, as well as fluid and electrical types. The purpose is to use the power at another location or to change the torque or rotational speed, and in the latter case it corresponds to a transmission or reduction gear.
