Nishinasuno [town] - Nishinasuno
An old town in Nasu County, occupying the western part of Nasunohara in northeastern Tochigi Prefecture. The main settlement is in front of the station on the Tohoku Main Line, and is the entrance to Shiobara Onsen. The Tohoku Expressway passes through the town. Development has progressed since the Meiji period, and the town produces rice, vegetables, flowers (persimmons), wheat, and soybeans. In January 2005, it merged with Kuroiso City and Shiobara Town in Nasu County to become a city, Nasu-Shiobara City. 59.63 km2 . Population: 43,942 (2003).

栃木県北東部,那須野原西部を占める那須郡の旧町。主集落は東北本線の駅前集落で,塩原温泉郷への入口。東北自動車道が通じる。明治以後開拓が進み,米,野菜,花卉(かき),麦,大豆を産する。2005年1月黒磯市,那須郡塩原町と合併し市制,那須塩原市となる。59.63km2。4万3942人(2003)。
