A language belonging to the Brythonic group of Celtic languages spoken in Cornwall, England. It was thought to have been lost to English with the death of D. Pentreath in 1777, but in fact it was passed down in small numbers, and from 1875 onwards, H. Jenner attempted to revive it as a spoken language. In 1967, the Cornish Language Board was established, and it began to be studied as an elective subject in schools.
