Korean modernist poet. He began publishing poetry when he studied at Doshisha University in 1923, and published Japanese poems in the journal Modern Landscapes, which was led by Kitahara Hakushu. After returning to Korea, he continued to write poetry while teaching, and his works, such as Nostalgia, The Sea, and Mount Baeksusan, were collected in Jeong Ji-yong Collected Poems (1935) and Baekrokdam (1941). His poems lack depth, but they are characterized by careful choice of words and skillful use of sensory metaphors. → Related Articles Nine People Association Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
