Tiglath-pileser [III] - Tiglath-pileser
King of Assyria (reigned 744-727 BC). He restored Assyria from decline, conquered Babylonia, Armenia, Syria, and Arabia, and created the largest territory in history. He is known for his administrative, tax, and military reforms, as well as for the reconstruction of the capital, Kalhu (now Nimrud).
