Japanese: 日本振袖始 - にっぽんふりそでのはじめ, にほんふりそではじめ

Bunraku puppet theater. Historical piece. Five acts. Written by Chikamatsu Monzaemon. First performed at the Takemotoza Theater in Osaka in February 1718 (Kyoho 3). Based on the Age of the Gods, it belongs to the same lineage as the Nihon Oudaiki. It deals with the conflict between the brothers Kotan and Somin, centering on the myths and legends of Susanoo. In search of the stolen Totsuka sword, Susanoo exterminates evil spirits in Mino Province and Ushi in Mikumano, and travels to the Hi River in Izumo. On the way, he settles the dispute between the brothers Kotan and Somin in Kibi Province, saves Princess Kushinada from peril when she is about to be sacrificed to the Yamata no Orochi, and finally recovers the Totsuka sword.

人形浄瑠璃。時代物。5段。近松門左衛門作。1718年(享保3)2月，大坂竹本座初演。神代に取材したもので，《日本王代記》などの系統に属す。素戔嗚（すさのお）尊の神話伝説を中心に，巨旦（こたん）蘇民の兄弟の争いを扱っている。素戔嗚尊は奪われた十握（とつか）の宝剣を探し求めて，美濃国の悪鬼や三熊野の大人（うし）を退治し，出雲の簸（ひ）の川まで出かける。途中で，吉備国の巨旦将来･蘇民将来の兄弟争いの裁きをつけ，八岐大蛇の人身御供になる奇稲田姫（くしなだひめ）の危難を救い，ついに十握の宝剣を取り戻す。
