Arbogast

…General of the late Roman Empire. A pagan Frank, and uncle of Arbogast (a powerful figure under Valentinian II and the supporter of Eugenius). In 377 he was appointed commander of the imperial headquarters by Gratian, and after being sent to Thrace to fight against the Visigoths he remained in the East and became a military commander under Theodosius I.
