[France] A law enacted by the National Assembly in June 1791 during the French Revolution. [England] A British law that banned the formation of labor unions in 1799. In order to protect the interests of the bourgeoisie, it prohibited workers from organizing, taking oaths, and making wage agreements, and bound workers until 1864. It is called the Le Chapelier Law after the person who proposed it.
In Britain, as the Industrial Revolution progressed, conflicts between labor and management intensified, and labor disputes became frequent. In response, the government banned both labor and employer unions. However, this was ineffective because laborers resisted by forming organizations such as the Friendly Society, and employers also resisted by joining forces with radicals in Parliament, and the ban was abolished in 1824.

ブルジョワジーの利益擁護のために，労働者の団結・誓願・賃金協定を禁じ，1864年まで労働者を束縛した。提案者の名をとって，ル＝シャプリエ法と呼ばれる。
イギリスでは産業革命の進展に伴って労使の対立が激化し，労働争議が頻発した。これに対し，政府が労働者の団結と使用者側の団結も禁止した。しかし，労働者が友愛協会などの組織をつくり抵抗し，使用者側も議会急進派と結んで抵抗したため効果があがらず，1824年に廃止された。
