Cyanohydrin

Also called oxynitrile. A general term for compounds that have a nitrile group (-CN) and a hydroxyl group (OH) in the molecule. They are produced by reacting aldehydes or ketones with hydrogen cyanide. They are decomposed into the original compound and alkali cyanide by the action of an alkali. オキシ酸ニトリルともいう。分子中にニトリル基 －CN および水酸基 OH をもつ化合物の総称。アルデヒドまたはケトンにシアン化水素を作用させてつくる。アルカリの作用でもとの化合物とシアン化アルカリとに分解する。有機合成出発物質として有用である。
