Tsukesage - Tsukesage
A type of pattern arrangement for women's kimonos, or also refers to kimonos with such patterns. The fabric is dyed so that the sleeves, body, collar, and other parts are measured in advance and the patterns face upwards when the kimono is sewn. It is the second most formal design after the hem pattern, and can be worn over a relatively wide area.

女物の着物の模様配置の一種,またそのように模様をつけた着物もいう。反物のままで袖(そで),身ごろ,衿(えり)などの部分をあらかじめ測り,仕立てた場合に模様が全部上向きになるように染めたもの。裾(すそ)模様に次ぐ格式があり,比較的広範囲に着られる。
