This is a fishery that takes advantage of the tendency of schools of fish to attach themselves to driftwood or floating seaweed, and of cuttlefish to gather on tree branches that have sunk to the seabed during spawning season, by artificially placing trees, bamboo, brushwood, etc. in the sea and catching schools of fish that have attached themselves to these. There are various final fishing methods. The most representative is the dolphin fishery, which is widely practiced in the Tsushima Warm Current region. 20 to 50 bundles of moso bamboo, 4 to 5 meters long and about 50 cm in diameter, are laid out at intervals of about 1000 meters in one fishing ground. To catch the fish, bait is used to separate the schools of fish that have gathered from under the bamboo, and the fish are then scattered around.
