The title of a Shinnai-bushi song. A scrap of paper. The original title was "Kaerizakinagori no Inochige (The Hair of Life That Remains When the Flower Blooms)." It is also called "Onoue Itahachi." The lyrics and music were written by Tsuruga Wakasajo I during the Meiwa era (1764-1772), and it is considered a representative Shinnai-bushi song along with "Rancho (Orchid Butterfly)" and "Akegarasu (The Crow That Dawn)," which were also written by the same person. It is an adaptation of the story of Harada Itayu, a scribe stationed in Edo for the Tsugaru Iwamatsu clan, who became deeply involved with a prostitute in Yoshiwara, and attempted a double suicide after being dismissed from his job. The title suggests that the couple will happily become husband and wife at the end.
