Asuke Jiro - Asuke Jiro

...A samurai from the end of the Kamakura period. Commonly known as Jiro. He was a descendant of the Seiwa Genji Asuke clan, whose base was in Asuke, Kamo County, Mikawa Province. The area included the imperial estates Takahashi Manor and Takahashi Shin Manor, and the Asuke clan had close ties to the imperial family for generations, and participated in Emperor Godaigo's movement to overthrow the shogunate. According to the Taiheiki, Shigenori participated in the siege of Kasagi Castle on the imperial side during the Genko Rebellion (1331), defending the east entrance and drawing a powerful bow, causing trouble for the shogunate forces, but after the castle fell he was captured by Rokuhara and beheaded in May of the following year at Rokujo-gawara in Kyoto. …鎌倉末期の武士。通称次郎。三河国加茂郡足助を本拠とする清和源氏足助氏の出自。同地方には皇室領高橋荘，高橋新荘があり，足助氏は代々皇室との関係が深く，後醍醐天皇の討幕運動に加わった。《太平記》によると，重範は元弘の乱(1331)で天皇方の笠置籠城に参戦，東口を守り強弓をひいて幕府軍を悩ませたが，落城後六波羅に捕らえられ，翌年5月京都六条河原で斬首された。享年32または41と伝える。【加藤 益幹】…
