Chang Jun-keun

Japanese: 張君勱 - ちょうくんばい

1887‐1969
Chinese thinker and politician. Born in Baoshan County, Jiangsu Province. His given name was Jiasen, and his literary name was Junji. In 1906 (the 32nd year of the Guangxu era), he studied in Japan, entered the political science department of Waseda University, and joined Liang Qichao's Political News Society, where he advocated for constitutional monarchy. In 1913, he studied in Germany, where he studied political science and economics at the University of Berlin, and in 1915, returned to China in opposition to Yuan Shikai's imperialist movement. In 1918, he toured Europe with Liang Qichao and others, but remained in Germany until 1922, first studying philosophy under Eucken at the University of Jena, then studying Bergson, and also inviting Driesch to China to introduce neovitalism.

中国の思想家，政治家。江蘇省宝山県の人。名は嘉森。君勱は字。1906年(光緒32)，日本に留学し，早稲田大学政治科に入り，梁啓超の政聞社に参加，立憲君主制を鼓吹した。13年，ドイツに留学し，ベルリン大学で政治経済学を学び，15年，袁世凱の帝制運動に反対して帰国。18年，梁啓超らとともにヨーロッパを視察したが，そのままドイツに22年までとどまり，最初イェーナ大学のオイケンから哲学を学び，ついでベルグソンを研究し，またドリーシュを中国に招いて新生気論を紹介した。
