Zhao Kuang - Chokyo

Dates of birth and death unknown. A scholar of the Tang Dynasty in China. His pen name was Bakujun. He served as governor of Yangzhou. He studied the Spring and Autumn Annals under Tanjo. After his teacher's death, his fellow student Lu Zhi (?-806, originally named Jun) and his teacher's son Zhao Yi compiled his teacher's work, Annotated Commentaries on the Spring and Autumn Annals, which Zhao Kuang expanded and edited. Lu Zhi later completed it as the Annotated Collection of the Spring and Autumn Annals. Zhao Kuang took Shi Duzhu's ideas further, objecting to the Five Classics and Zhengyi, which had been completed by Kong Yingda and others under imperial decree, and claiming that the Zuo family in the Zuo Zhuan was not Zuo Qiuming. His academic style, which put forward his own theory, also influenced the Song Confucians.

生没年不詳。中国、唐代の学者。字(あざな)は伯循(はくじゅん)。官は洋州刺史を歴任。啖助(たんじょ)に師事して春秋を学ぶ。師の死後、同門の陸質(りくしつ)（？―806、初名は淳(じゅん)）が師の遺子の趙異と師の著『春秋集註(しっちゅう)総例』を編集し、趙匡はこれに増補、削改した。のち陸質はこれを『春秋集伝纂例(さんれい)』として完成した。趙匡は師啖助の考えをさらに進め、左伝の左氏を左丘明(きゅうめい)でないとするように、孔穎達(くようだつ)らが勅を奉じて完成した『五経正義』に異議を唱え、自説を掲げたその学風が宋儒(そうじゅ)にも影響を与えた。
