Kobunen (English)

Japanese: 古文苑 - こぶんえん（英語表記）Gǔ wén yuàn

A Chinese anthology of poetry and prose. The editor is unknown. It contains over 260 pieces of poetry and prose from the Eastern Zhou to the Southern Qi dynasties, all of which have not yet been collected in existing anthologies such as the Wen Xuan. It is said to have been compiled by the Tang, but the current version is a 9-volume edition recompiled by Han Yuanji of the Southern Song, and a 21-volume edition annotated and revised by Zhang Qiao at the end of the Southern Song. There is some doubt about its origin, but it is not lacking in value as a document. Sun Xingyan of the Qing dynasty compiled the 20-volume Zoku Kowenyuan.

中国の詩文集。編者不明。東周から南朝斉に至るまでの各種の詩文260余編を収め，いずれも《文選（もんぜん）》など既成の選集に未収のものばかりである。唐人（とうひと）の編んだものとされているが，現在伝わるのは南宋の韓元吉（かんげんきつ）が再編した9巻本，さらに南宋末の章樵（しようしよう）が注釈を施して編次を改めた21巻本である。その伝来に多少疑わしいところはあるが，資料的価値は乏しくない。清の孫星衍（そんせいえん）に《続古文苑》20巻がある。
