Izuru-san

Japanese: 出流山 - いずるさん

Izuruyama Manganji is a Shingon sect temple located in Tochigi City, Tochigi Prefecture. It is the 17th temple of the Bando Kannon Pilgrimage. It is said to have been founded around the Tenpyo period by Shodo Shonin, who also opened Mount Nikko, and the principal image of the temple, the Eleven-Headed Thousand-Armed Kannon, is said to have been made by Kukai. The temple is located on the middle slope of Mount Izuru, and behind it are the cliff-hanging Okunoin Sacred Cave and the Sacred Cave of Dainichi and Daishi, within which numerous stalagmites and stalactites can be seen. Nearby is Daihinotaki Falls, where ascetic ascetics can take water to wash down. The principal image is known for its miraculous powers, such as bringing good luck and warding off evil, and is visited by many people, mainly in the Kanto region.

出流山満願寺は栃木県栃木市にある真言宗智山派の寺。坂東観音霊場第17番札所。日光山を開いた勝道上人が天平のころに創建したといわれ，本尊十一面千手観音像は空海の作と伝えられる。寺は出流山の中腹にあって，背後に懸崖造りの奥の院霊窟および大日･大師の霊窟があり，窟内には多数の石筍（せきじゆん）や鍾乳石がみられる。近くに修験の行者が水ごりをとる大悲の滝もある。本尊は開運･厄除けなどの霊験で知られ，関東地方を中心に参詣者が多い。
