A communal cemetery from the middle of the Yayoi period located in Izuruhara, Sano City, Tochigi Prefecture. It is located on a low plateau at an altitude of 195m and a slope of 60m at the southernmost tip of the Ashio Mountains. It was known as a site containing Jomon pottery, but as a result of three excavations in 1964 and 1965, a total of 37 pits with a diameter of about 1m were discovered in an area of 34m square, and it is estimated that the number of pits exceeds 40 if unexcavated areas are included. Some pits contained between 1 and 11 pieces of pottery, and pit No. 11, which contained 11 pieces of pottery, contained a small jar with a human face.
