Basil - Basil

Another name for the annual herb basil, which belongs to the Lamiaceae family (APG classification: Lamiaceae). When the seeds are placed in the eyes, moisture causes a jelly-like substance to seep out, which helps remove dirt from the eyes, hence the name.
